What do we do for our members?

CropLife Australia leads industry efforts to ensure a science based, efficient and effective regulatory and policy environment that supports innovation and encourages high quality products.

We take a leading position, which is achieved through work with our allies and via discussions with politicians, departmental officials and the media.  We do this to influence policies and regulations so that our members can efficiently conduct business without undue government intervention.

  • CropLife also facilitates a number of stewardship programs such as; drumMUSTER, which collects and recycles empty agricultural and veterinary chemical containers, preventing them from building up on farms or domestic waste facilities where they might present a risk to health or land waterways; and
  • ChemClear® which collects and safely disposes of old, unregistered and unwanted agricultural and veterinary chemicals.

So how does CropLife do all this on members’ behalf?

  • We monitor and track the news, political issues and bureaucratic processes affecting our industry.
  • Working in Canberra, we maintain solid relationships with government departments by participating in regulatory and decision making processes.
  • When problems arise, we present policy solutions to ministers and government officials on issues affecting our industry. Although we do help our politicians, we fight for our industries rights when required.
  • We listen to our members and actively engage them in formulating our positions and policies. We believe every member has a valuable contribution to make, and as such, our members play an essential role in determining CropLife Australia’s strategic objectives.
  • We maintain and continue to develop strong working relationships with our key allies.
  • Communication is the key to success. CropLife Australia is committed to delivering the highest quality of service to its valued members. We inform our members of current news and activities in our industry by providing four essential tools:

    • The CropLIfe website
    • Top Stories - A weekly email bulletin providing members with an overview of relevant news items that the community or politicians may be reading.
    • Heads-Up  - An email alert system issued to members on an as-needs basis when CropLife becomes aware of information that is likely to be important and is related to strategic issues or priority areas of activity.
    • CropLinks - A monthly email newsletter that provides members with information about key issues and activities of CropLife Australia
  • We provide networking opportunities, including our annual Perspectives Conference, to ensure our industry remains united and focused.
