Note:
In September 2009, CropLife Australia completed a review of the Australian Insecticide Activity Groups classification system.
In summary, the proposed changes include very minor sub‑group lettering changes and reallocation of group numbering. There is also a new group, Unknown ("UN"), in which compounds with as-yet unspecified modes of action are placed. Several compounds that are currently placed in numbered groups will in future be specified as "UN", including the codes on product labels. Active constituents are only added to the official list once they have received APVMA approval. The format of the proposed Mode of Action Classification table has also been aligned with the IRAC table.
Existing product labels will require updating within three years (ie. before September 2012) to reflect changed activity groups.
